Get Sanctum for your PC
Install it from the Microsoft Store and pick the folder or drive your library should live in. The PC becomes your vault: it stores everything and does the thinking.
Add the app to your phone
Get Sanctum from Google Play and sign in. It finds your PC and starts backing up your camera roll: over your home Wi-Fi when you are in, securely over the internet when you are out.
Browse it anywhere
Your whole library on your phone, at home or away, with small copies kept on the phone so it still opens when the PC is asleep.
Everything a photo app should do. Nothing leaves home to do it.
Search by what's in it
Type "dog on the beach" or "birthday cake". Sanctum also reads the words in your screenshots and documents, so a receipt or a boarding pass is one search away.
People, grouped for you
Faces are grouped on your PC and you choose the names. Each person's page shows the photos they're really in, then the ones where they're in the background.
Memories you're in charge of
PROOn this day, trips, and days with the people you love, played as a slow show. You choose what to open, and you can quiet any person or time of year.
A Private room
PROHide anything from the timeline. Hidden items live in Private, which opens with your fingerprint or PIN on the phone and locks itself again when you leave.
Videos you can search
Find a clip by what happens in it ("me at the gym") or by what someone said. Speech is transcribed on your PC, translated into English, and can be shown as captions.
Make things, keep originals
Crop photos, and with Pro trim and join videos and build collages. Every edit is saved as a new file beside the original, which is never changed.
Where your photos live decides who can look at them.
With a cloud photo service, your library sits on the company's servers, and that's where it's analysed. With Sanctum it sits on your drive, and the analysis happens there too.
If your PC is off when you take a photo, your phone encrypts it before it leaves. It waits in an online holding area until your PC collects it, and only your PC has the key to open it.
You pay for the app, not for the space.

Your PC counts as one of your devices. A tablet counts as a phone. Prices are in Australian dollars.

The honest answers.
Does my PC need to be on?
For browsing the full library, yes. When it's off, the phone still shows your library from the small copies it keeps, and new photos wait safely until the PC is back.
What if my drive fails?
Sanctum keeps your library on your drive, so a spare copy of that drive matters as it would for any irreplaceable files. Your photos are ordinary files in an ordinary folder, so any backup tool can copy them.
Are my photos used to train AI?
No. The models that search, group faces and caption videos run on your own PC, and your photos are not sent anywhere to be analysed.
Can I leave with my photos?
They never left. Stop using Sanctum and your photos and videos stay exactly where they are, in the folder you chose.
What do I need?
A Windows PC with space for your library, and an Android phone. Sanctum for the PC comes from the Microsoft Store and the phone app from Google Play. iPhone is not available yet.
